Here at Young Scholars Academy we have team members referred to as Team Leaders. These Team Leaders were hand-selected to engage and promote learning beyond the classroom.
Each month you can find our Team Leaders doing projects bringing in members of the community, creating interactive activities to take the extra step to enrich beyond the classroom and tie-in what themes are in the building and curriculum.
We have seven Team Leaders here at Young Scholars Academy:
- Safety Coordinator
- Family & Diversity Coordinator
- Curriculum Coordinator
- Social & Emotional Coordinator
- Early Literacy Coordinator
- Community Outreach Coordinator
- Health Liaison
Ms. Leslie – Safety Coordinator
“One of my goals as Safety Coordinator is to make the environment as safe as possible for every child and staff member! I want more than anything to have the kids have fun and a great time so I want to make sure that the kids are not only keeping their own bodies safe but make sure the environment around them is the same way!“
Ms. Cheryl – Family & Diversity Coordinator
“My goal is to help enrich the learning environment with different cultures for all the children and families here. I want to recognize differences in our familes and to celebrate those differences in a learning atmoshphere such as YSA!”
Ms. Michaela – Curriculum Coordinator
“As Curriculum Coordinator it is my goal and hope that every child has equal learning opportunities through both the Providers, Creative Curriculum and scaffolding curriculum so that each child is showcased and individualized!
I love to give support to the parents and teachers so please do not hesitate to come find me in my classroom!”
Ms. Brittani – Social & Emotional Coordinator
“As Social & Emotional Coordinator my main goal is to communicate and help the families and children here at Young Scholars Academy.
I would like to open doors for the teachers to connect more with the children as well as the parents, so that we may work together and overcome any obstacles that we may encounter thus providing kids with a strong foundation!”
Ms Blair – Early Literacy Coordinator
“By introducing children to literacy and the love of learning at an early age, we can help to better prepare them for kindergarten and life beyond school. As the EarlyLiteracy Coordinator, I work with our teachers and families by providing resources for this introduction and also have fun reading for home available! I really focus all my attention through these guidelines listed below.”
Ms. Jordan – Community Outreach Coordinator
“Being the Community Outreach Coordinator allows me to introduce the kids here to new experiences and things that can really further every aspect of not only the curriculum, but values and character development but most importantly emphasize how fun it is to be a kid!
My goal is to create solid connections between teachers and parents and connect with members in our community to encourage our kids to reach further and always go above and beyond.”
Ms. Mary – Health Liaison
“As Health Liaison, my desire is to provide support to staff, children and families in a number of health related topics to ensure a clean, safe learning environment for our children and their families.”
Please be sure to come and seek me out if you have any questions or any health tips!
